Bingo is a classic game and at some point someone had the brilliant idea to come up with cool variations on the traditional game. One of the common variations on classic bingo is to devise a holiday themed bingo games that appeals to people during the various holiday seasons. Among the most popular variations on traditional bingo are the fun Halloween bingo printable games.

These games can be purchased solo or part of a package of various different games. To a great extent, these packaged games are pretty attractive to kids as they really get a bang for their buck. Well, the parents are the one’s who save on the buck while the kids get a whole lot of bang.

Many Halloween bingo printable games can be found within a package of other printable games. In fact, it is not uncommon for printable game packages to include a multitude of different games. So, in addition to having a bingo game to play there may be a half dozen other games to play. What is even additionally great about these packages is the fact that these packages are often offered at a very low price.

Often, you can pick up a package of a ton of games that can cost under $20 and this can make for a very cost effective leisure activity for families that might be on a budget. Also, the variety of games in the package can cover the potential “pickiness” a kid may have in terms of the particular game he or she may want to play. In a way, you could consider these packages games as possessing blanket coverage. Now, that’s not a bad deal is it?

By: Asante Riviera

If you only have a few minutes, speed bingo may be just the type of online bingo for you to look into.

It might sound strange for some people to want to play speed bingo. Isn’t real bingo fast enough as it is? For those who are semi-professional online bingo players speed bingo. In normal bingo, numbers are called every two to three seconds; in speed bingo, numbers are called every second that goes by. The average game of speed bingo can be done in just over half a minute, something that some people can appreciate and others won’t be able to get with.

Check Your Reaction Time

Your reaction time is one thing that can make a huge difference when it comes to whether or not you will be able to get with the new speed bingo trend. Some people take long enough to find a number when they have two to three seconds to do so. If this sounds like you, speed bingo may cause for you to just be left in the dust and possibly miss out on a winning combo.

If You Are Short on Time Anyway

If you are short on time anyway, speed bingo may be one of those things you should try out. Some people are addicted to online bingo but can’t seem to find the time to play. If this is the case, speed bingo is a great thing to get into. You can fit double the amount of games into a normal slot of time, increasing your chances of winning if you are playing for a jackpot. While you may be able to monitor fewer cards at the same time, such is the case with everyone else in the game keeping your chances of a win better than or at least equal to a traditional game of online bingo.

If You Are Quick On the Uptake

If you are quick to learn new things and have quick eyes and hands, online bingo with a bit of speed added in may be a good idea for you. The regular pace of bingo may be just too slow for some people, who find the pace of waiting around for the next ball to be called too slow. With speed bingo, you can keep up with the pace of life-really, really fast.

Speed bingo is the new thing when it comes to gaming online. If you like bingo and you like to do things fast, you may want to check out this new revolution in online bingo.

By: Gevie Sanchez

Most people are familiar with the game of bingo. It is play using bingo cards contain a five by five grid of squares, with each square containing a word or number. Each player is given their own bingo card, and marks off the squares from their card when the corresponding item is announced by the bingo caller. In most games, the winner is the first player to achieve a continuous line of five squares, in any direction (regardless of whether the line is horizontal, vertical or diagonal), and call out “Bingo”. For a longer game, players can aim for larger or more complex target shapes than a single line, for example, two intersecting lines of five squares, a postage stamp of three by three sequares, or even all squares marked off.

In the standard or traditional game of bingo, each of the squares on a bingo card is printed with a different number between 1 and 75. Today however, variants of the game, but using cards printed with words or phrases instead of numbers, are becoming increasingly popular. Using a computer and bingo card maker software, it is dead easy produce custom bingo cards of this type. In fact, the ease of producing custom bingo cards has been one of the main contributing factors to a renaissance in the game’s popularity: teachers are increasingly using custom bingo cards in their classrooms, and themed versions of bingo are also growing in popularity for religious and secular holidays and events.

St. Patrick’s Day is the Irish national holiday, named in honor of one of the patron saint’s of Ireland. It usually falls on March 17th, although the date is moved in those years when March 17th falls within Holy week. The day is used as a celebration for all things Irish, and is of course an excellent opportunity for playing an Irish-themed version of bingo. All you need to do is prepare some bingo cards containing words or phrases relating to Irish history, culture or geography, and you’re ready to play.

By: Sunil Tanna

Phonics is a popular method of teaching children to read that is based around the child learning to connect sounds with letters or groups of letters. For example, the child would learn that the hard “k” sound is associated with the letters “c”, “k” or “ck”. To be fair, using phonics as a method of teaching reading has not been without controversy, particularly in the United States of America, at least since the mid 19th century, and especially since the reemergence of phonics in the 1950s.

Those teachers who do use phonics, generally use them in a variety of different classroom activities, not just when students are reading from books or writing. For example, phonics and phonics-based skills can be incorporated into many different classroom activities and educational games, including, for example, bingo.

Phonics bingo is played like the traditional game of bingo: Each player (student) is given a card containing a five by five grid of squares, and aims to mark of a line of items (horizontally, vertically or diagonally) in response to items called out by the bingo caller (teacher). The different however between phonics bingo and traditional bingo, is that the cards, instead of being printed with numbers, are printed with words appropriate to the subject of the lesson. Additionally, game play may be modified in a variety of different ways.

Some ideas for phonetics bingo include:

1. Partial word bingo – The teacher says something like “find the word with ‘pin’ in it”, in response to which the students would have to find “spin”.

2. Blending bingo – The teacher reads out a word slowly, for example “sss-nnn-aaa-p”, and the students must find the corresponding word.

3. Rhyming bingo – The teacher reads out a word, and students need to find the word that rhymes with it.

4. Silent E bingo – The teacher reads out a word like “pin” and asks what what word you would get by adding an E.

It should also be remembered that phonics is not a complete solution to learning reading. Students must also learn to recognize some common words which can not be sounded out (the most common list of such words is known as Dolch Sight Words). Many teachers also emphasize learning to sight read other common words (such as “is” or “it”) as this can improve reading fluency. Therefore as well as playing phonics bingo, you can also play sight word bingo in class.

By: Sunil Tanna

Most people are familiar with the game of bingo and how to play it. It may be that we have played the game at some point in our lives ourselves, or it may be that we have simply seen others play it and learnt that way – the rules are that easy to pick-up. One thing however that many people are not aware of, is that bingo can be adapted for use in schools and education, and these modified variants of the game, can be useful classroom tool.

The beauty of bingo in the classroom is that it provides an interesting and stimulating activity for students, but can easily be adapted for teaching almost any subject, whether that be reading, English, math, a foreign language such as French, German, Italian or Spanish, or almost anything else.

Although in some cases it may be necessary for the teacher to vary the rules of the game slightly, the main change in educational versions of bingo is the content of the bingo cards. In the traditional game of bingo, the bingo cards are printed with numbers, however in classroom versions of the game, the cards are instead printed with items of the teachers choice – these can be words, phrases, math problems or anything else that the teacher chooses.

Using these custom bingo cards, the game is then played. In an introductory level reading class, students may simply be required to find the matching item when a word is called out by the teacher. However, in a math class, the students may be required to correctly solve the problems in a square in order to mark it off, and in a language class, the cards might be printed with words in French or Spanish, and the students might be required to find the matching word when the teacher makes bingo calls in English.

By: Sunil Tanna

Most people are familiar with the game of bingo – it’s a wonderful game that can be enjoyed by young and old, and is very popular with church and community groups. But did you know that bingo can also be important educational tool? An increasing number of teachers, have found that bingo is ideal for classroom use. This is because the game is easy to learn, highly adaptable, doesn’t require expensive materials, and most important, is a lot fun.

In the traditional game of bingo, players are of course each given a card containing a 5 by 5 grid of numbers, and check off squares on their cards when the bingo caller calls out the corresponding number. Depending on which version of the rules you prefer, the objective is for a player either to get a line of five items checked off, or to check off every item on their card. The winner of the game is the first person who checks off their items and shouts out “Bingo!”

In educational variants, the basic game is exactly the same, but there are usually some differences in detail. The first and most important modification is that instead of using bingo cards containing numbers, you use bingo cards containing whatever is the subject of the lesson. If the subject was English, you might use words from the spelling test, if the subject was geography you might use names of countries, states or cities, and in a religious or bible study class, you would use items related to theme of the class, for example, books of the Old or New Testament, names of the people in biblical stories, saints’ names, etc. And, don’t forget, you can also play themed versions of bingo to celebrate particular times of year like Christmas or Easter too!

As well as changing the bingo cards, some teachers also like to vary the game play. If you want to make the game into a kind of test, you can require the person claiming “Bingo!” to describe each of the items that they have marked off on their bingo cards – in other words, they can’t claim (for example) “Noah” as part of their winning line, unless they know a little bit of Noah’s story (including of course his building of the ark). Alternatively, if you prefer not to make the game into a test, you could for example have a class discussion after item is called out, or ask for a volunteer to explain the particular bible story or character, etc. Really, your imagination is the limit.

Of course, in order to play these variants of bingo, you will need specially themed bingo cards. In the bad old days, you would have to had to send off for them to a specialist publisher – which could be kind of expensive, even for just one set of bingo cards. Modern technology has however made this part much easier – you can simply print the bingo cards from your computer: Easy-to-use and affordable bingo card maker software makes it straightforward to print bingo cards on any theme that you like, in unlimited quantities.

By: Sunil Tanna

Most people are familiar with the traditional game of bingo played using printed cards containing numbers. Pretty much all of us have at one point or another, either played the game ourselves, or at least seen others playing the game. Furthermore bingo is quite a popular leisure or social activity, not only with seniors, and church groups, but online as well.

One thing that many of us may not have considered, are adaptations of the game of bingo. These are becoming increasingly popular both as a form of recreational fun, and as an educational tool (in schools, colleges, universities and indeed corporate training environments). Adapted versions of bingo are played using bingo cards containing words or phrases (chosen to suit to the theme of game), rather than numbers. For example, a Thanksgiving bingo game would be played using words like “Pilgrim” or “Turkey”, a Christmas bingo game would be played using items like “Santa Claus” or “Bethlehem”, and an educational game, could be played using sight words (words that students must learn to recognize to gain reading frequency), multiplication sums, chemical elements of the periodic table, or whatever is being taught in this particular class.

In the past obtaining the specially themed bingo cards to play these variants was quite difficult and expensive – you had to send-off to a specialist manufacturer to get them. Today however it is easy: you can simply print bingo cards or any theme you like from your computer. Free bingo printables on many different topics are available online, and if you want to print bingo cards containing items of your own choosing, you can purchase easy-to-use but affordable bingo card generator software for doing the job.

By: Sunil Tanna

If you want to play bingo, of course you need bingo cards – one for each player. However, as far as traditional bingo (the game played using bingo cards printed with numbers) is concerned, there is probably no desperate need to create the cards yourself. However these days, the traditional game is not the be all and end all of bingo. More and more people are taking to playing themed versions of the game, and these versions of bingo require custom cards printed with words or phrases relating to the particular theme, rather than the traditional numbered cards.

Perhaps the most popular themed versions of bingo are those based around holidays and seasonal events. For example, you could play versions of bingo tying in with any secular or religious occasion, be it Christmas, July 4th, President’s Day, Columbus Day, Easter, Halloween, St. Valentine’s Day, or for that matter, any other day too. Whatever the occasion, all you need is bingo cards printed with items relating to the theme, so things like “Egg” and “Resurrection” for Easter, “Black Cat” and “Witch” for Halloween, and “Nativity” and “Silent Night” for Christmas.

Themed versions of bingo are also popular in educational environments, especially K-12 and English as Second Language. In this situation, the teacher picks a theme based on the subject and lesson plan, and students play bingo in class. Game play can also be varied to enhance the educational content of the game, so in a math class, the bingo cards might be printed with math problems and the students required to write in the answers rather than simply mark off squares, and in a foreign language class, these could be made in one language which students must match against cards printed in another language.

Regardless of the theme or the reason for playing, the main thing that is needed to play is of course the custom bingo cards. The best way to prepare custom ones is to get your computer to do the work – using bingo card maker software, you can print an unlimited quantity of cards, on any topic you like, with consummate ease.

By: Sunil Tanna

Most people have played bingo at some point in their lives, but even those of us who have never played the game, generally do know how to play the game.

Traditionally bingo is played using cards containing a grid of squares (usually but not always a grid of 5 X 5 squares), with each square containing a different number. Each player is given one of these bingo cards, and the objective of the game is to mark off a row, column or diagonal of squares (in some versions, the objective is to obtain multiple lines, another square, or even get all squares marked off). Squares on the cards are marked off by the players when the bingo caller (who also acts as referee) calls out the corresponding number.

Bingo has undergone something of a renaissance in popularity in the last few years. While the traditional game remains popular, new variants of bingo are reaching new audiences. In each case, these variants of the game are played using bingo cards containing custom items related to a particular topic, rather than the standard numbered bingo cards.

Some examples include:

- Holiday bingo, using bingo cards with words and phrases themed around a particular holiday be it New Year, Valentine’s Day, July 4th, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas.

- Wedding and baby shower bingo is a popular activity on these social events. Bingo cards containing items related to brides, weddings, or babies, are used as applicable.

- Educational bingo is getting more and more popular with teachers. Versions of the game can be produced for almost any type of class including English (including K12 and ESL), math, science, history, geography or even religious studies. Game play may also be varied by the teacher, so for example in math bingo, cards containing math problems may be used and students must write in the answers to these problems rather than simply tick off the squares.

In order to play any of these variants of the game, you will of course need bingo cards printed with the appropriate themed items. These are not always easy to obtain for every possible topic, and even when available can be expensive. Therefore the best option for most people is to simply print them using a computer and appropriate bingo card generator software.

By: Sunil Tanna

After addition, it would be fair to say that subtraction is the basic of arithmetic operations. Indeed, many students learn the two concepts of adding (addition) and “taking away” (subtraction) together. Of course, it’s usual for students to begin by learning how to do simple subtractions such 3 minus 2, 4 minus 3, 5 minus 2, etc., and then gradually progress towards being able to subtract numbers with multiple digits and carrying numbers between columns. High quality teaching is obviously one of the main foundation stones to this learning process, but regular practice is also very important.

While repetition and practice are of course important, it’s also certainly true that too much repetition can bore even the most diligent student. In the old days, many teachers weren’t too concerned about this issue – as long as the students were doing the work required of them, the teachers knew they were learning, and were therefore satisfied. Teaching has fortunately progressed considerably since those days. Nowadays teachers generally actively seek out interesting classroom activities for their students, because they know that such activities can be very effective in encouraging learning. One particular activity that many teachers are using in their classes, is bingo.

Bingo is ideally suited to use in math classes; it’s almost infinitely adaptable, it’s extremely easy to learn and play, and you don’t need expensive resources or materials. Educational variants of bingo are very similar to the traditional game of bingo, however bingo cards containing items relating to the subject of the lesson are used, instead of ordinary numbered bingo cards. Obviously in the case of subtraction, the items on the cards would be subtraction problems, and students would be required to write in their answers to these, rather than simply crossing items off the card.

The only thing that I haven’t yet explained is where teachers can obtain their subtraction bingo cards. The answer is a bit of a surprise for many teachers: they simply print them from your computer! With the help of some affordable and easy-to-use bingo card maker software, teachers can print unlimited bingo cards on any subject that they want.

By: Sunil Tanna
